my face take 2

My pronouns are she/her.

I realized during my first year of teaching that while I love what I do, the classroom is not the most perfect fit for me. It took me several months to realize that the library was the answer. Until I started teaching the library had never even occurred to me as an option. I decided that I wanted to pursue an MLIS degree, but it was a back-burner decision. After my first year I moved to a different school and a different grade and it wasn’t for two more years that I finally took the first step and applied to the MLIS program. The 2019/2020 school year was my sixth year of teaching and my second year in pre-kindergarten after three years in kindergarten. The 2020/2021 school year began with me teaching pre-k virtually (not easy) before I accepted a position as a school librarian. I first walked into my library in mid November 2020.

This site is my ePortfolio for my graduate coursework. Here you will find a statement of my philosophy, my ongoing journal to record my experiences and learning in the MLIS program, evidence of my work towards mastery of the AASL Standards for Initial Preparation of School Librarians, my resume, and a collection of professional resources.
